Acronia bulbosa Luer & R.Escobar 2005SUBGENUS Pleurothallis SECTION Macrophyllae-Fasciculatae Lindl 1859 Photo by the Niessen's and their Orquideas del Valle Website

Common Name The Bulbous Acronia
Flower Size .2" [5 mm]
Found in Antioquia Colombia on the western Cordillera at elevations around 2050 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicaul with a tubular sheath below and 2 others at the base carrying a spreasing, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, acuminate, sessile, cordate leaf that blooms in the spring on a .1 to .15" [2 to 3 mm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising and confined within a reclining spathe with tubular floral bracts.
In my mind better treated as a Pleurothallis but as yet has not been described as such.
