Found in Penninsular Thailand, Borneo, Sumatra and Western Malaysia in secondary and peat swamp forests at elevations of sealevel to 1350 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a stem enveloped completely by imbricate, basally clasping, leaf bearing sheaths, the older leafless and each younger leafed, carrying lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, conduplicate below into the sheath leaves that blooms on an axillary, to .33" [8 mm] long, 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with a fractiflex rachis and carrying, fragrant flowers held close to the stem.
