Found in central and south central Madagascar in montane forests at elevations of 1600 to 1800 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short stem carrying 4 to 5, ligulate, fleshy leaves that blooms in the summer on a short, hidden beneath the leaves, to 4" [10 cm] long, 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence
