Found in the eastern Himalayas and the Chinese Himalayas at high elevations as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial or lithophyte with a fusiform tuber giving rise to an erect stem with a few basal sheaths and carrying a single, ovate, obtuse, petiolate base leaf and blooms in the summer on an erect, slender, naked, 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, scattered, few flowered inflorescence
