Found in Ecuador in montane forests as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphtye with a filiformis, flexuous, glabrous ramicaul carrying a single apical, erect, lanceolate-ligulate, abtuse, narrowly subpetilate base leaf that blooms in the fall through spring on a single, ascending, laxly 4 to 7 flowered inflorescence with cucullate-ovate, shortly acuminate floral bracts
