Found in southeast Yunnan in forests at elevations around 1500 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with an erect to ascending stem carrying 4 to 5, abaxially pale green to pale red, adaxially dark green with gold venation, ovate, slightly oblique, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, to 3.6" [9 cm] long, few to 8 flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3, pale red, sterile bracts and ovate-lanceolate, as long as the ovary, outer surface pubescent, acuminate apically floral bracts.
