Common Name The Orange Ascocentrum
Flower Size 3/8"+ [1 cm]
Found in Sulawesi and the Philippines at elevations up to 1200 meters as a monopodial hot to warm growing epiphyte in dark forests and blooms in the spring on an erect, 4" [10 cm] long, many flowered, racemose inflorescence with many flowers. The orchid in the photograph is the sulawesi Island deep orange type not the Phillipine subspecies.
