Found in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil in wet montane forests at elevations around 1680 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with variegated light green with dark green splotches, ovate-oblong, acute to acuminate, crenulate, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, erect, 6 to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, red brown becoming green apically , white pubescent, several to many flowered inflorescence
