Common Name The Cowled Barbosella

Flower Size 1 1/4" [4 cm]

Found from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador Peru and Bolivia in dense brush at elevations of 1400 to 3450 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte to lithophyte in moss, with a very short, approximate stem carrying a single, apical, erect, fleshy, oblancolate, minutely tridentate apically leaf that is rough textured and blooms on an erect, terete, pale green, 6" [15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence holding the large flower well above the leaves occuring in the winter, spring and fall.
