Found in Madagascar and the Mascarenes at elevations of sealevel to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a narrow, somewhat compressed, very short stem carrying 5 to 12 linear oblong,emarginate apically leaves that blooms in the spring through fall on an 8" to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long, loosely 5 to 12 flowered, racemose inflorescence partially enveloped by 5 very short sheaths.
