Found in Bahia, Espiritu Santo, Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo states of Brazil in montane rainforests at elevations of 300 to 900 meters as a small to medium szied, warm to cool growing epiphyte with conic-tetragon pseudobulbs carrying a single, plicate, erect, ellipitical-elongate, acuminate leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a basal, short, few flowered inflorescence with fragrant flowers
