Common Name Forget's Brassia [an English orchid Collector 18-1900's]

Flower Size 5 3/8" [13 cm]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru growing in wet montane forest and tropical rain forests at an altitude of around 300 to 750 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing, unifoliate epiphyte with narrowly ovate-oblong, compressed, lightly ribbed pseudobulbs carrying a single, oblanceolate, acute, shortly conduplicate towards the petiolate leaf with ovoid to oblong-ellipsoid pseudobulbs carying 1 to 2 apical, oblong to elliptic-oblong, acute to obtuse, light green leaves and blooms on an axillary, arcuate, 12" [30 cm] long, racemose, densly several flowered inflorescence arising on from the basal scarious leaf sheaths of a mature pseudobulb with fragrant [tangerines] flowers and occuring in the spring.
