Found in New Caledonia in rain forest at elevations around 1100 meters on mossy trees with a robust, creeping rhizome giving rise to yellow, quadrangular pseudobulbs and carrying a single, apical, erect, greenish yellow, spatulate leaf that blooms in the winter spring and fall on several, basal, single flowered inflorescence

There are two forms to this species one with free sepals like the first photo and one with fused sepals as in the second photo.
