Found on the borders of Lake Mantasoa in Madagascar in humid , mossy, evergreen forests at elevations of 1300 to 1400 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] between each 4 angled pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, oblong leaves that blooms in the earlier spring on a cylindrical, 14 to 18" [35 to 45 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with the fleshy rachis held at an angle to the stem.
