Found in the Eastern Himalayas Nepal, Bhutan, India, Thailand to Vietnam and Southern China at elevations around 1100 to 2100 meters as a small sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte with 5 angled, deeply grooved, squat pseudobulbs carrying a 2 to 3, apical, elliptic, acute leaves that blooms in the summer on a basal, erect, 6" [15 cm] long, subdensely 10 to 20 flowered, deflexed inflorescence with foetid smelling flowers.
