Common Name The Nodding Bulbophyllum [Latin for "with the face turned towards the earth" refering to the nodding flower.]

Flower Size 1/2" [1.2 cm]

A miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte found in Thailand, Borneo and Java at altitudes around 1300 meters in dry open ridge forests that has a creeping rhizome, carrying close set, ovoid, somewhat flattened pseudobulbs enveloped basally with many stiff hairs and carrrying a single, apical, rather thick, elliptic, petiolate leafa lateral, slender, 7/8" to 2 3/4" [2 to 7 cm] long inflorescence that has an apical, solitary, unscented, slightly nodding flower occuring in the fall.
