Bulbophyllum coelochilum J.J.Verm.1991 SECTION Macrocaulia (Bl.) Aver 1994 Photo by © W.K. Harris and their Orchids of New Guinea Website
Common Name The Hollow Lip Bulbophyllum
Flower Size .4" [1 cm]
Found in Sabah Borneo in dry, low and open forests on steep ridges at elevations of 1300 to 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte on small branches among lichens with ellipsoid, slightly flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, rathre thin, elliptic, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a basal, 1.6 to 2.4" [4 to 6 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
CAUTION I am fairly sure that this determination is incorreect. The species has a recurved, rather thin, ovate, adaxially with a depression in the center with an obtuse apex and the surface somewhat finely papillose. To me this lip is very thickly papillose and there is no visible center depression, the lip is oblong. I await further information.
