Found in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Siera Leone, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Zaire and Angola in lowland and submontane forests at elevations of 100 to 1000 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] between each ellipsoid, slightly compressed, 2 to 4 angled pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, lanceolate, gradually narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring and early summer on a 6 to 20" [15 to 50 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with a swollen, flattened, smooth to indented, yellowish green spotted with purple rachis with the flowers set alternately on each side.
