Common Name The Rounded Tongue Bulbophyllum

Flower Size .08" [2 mm]

Found only in New Guinea in range forests at elevations around 2500 to 3400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid, not to hardly flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to obovate, obtuse to acute, narrowing into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter through spring on a very short, few bracted, single flowered inflorescence with tubular, 1.3-1.8 mm, tip obtuse. much shorter than the ovary floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the species has a column that differs from the Bulbophyllum form and the petals are very small as well as the flowers are dark carmine red
