Common Name or Meaning Fischer's Bulbophyllum [German Botanist in Russia 1800's]
Flower Size 5/8" [1.5 cm]
Found in southern India at elevations of 1500 to 1700 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with small clustered pseudobulbs carrying a single apical leaf and blooms in the spring on a basal, as long as the leaf, 2.8" [7 cm] long, inflorescence carrying an umbell of several to many flowers.This is a Section Cirrhopetalum plant and there has been much confusion over these species over the years. If your plant has triangular like flowers instead of the longitudinally stretched flowers of Cirrhopetalum then you have Bulbophyllum gamblei.
