Found in New Guinea in range forests at elevations around 450 to 800 meters as a large sized, warm growing epiphyte with .2 to .6" [.5 to 1.5 cm] between each cylindrical-conical pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, linear, acute, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the late fall through early spring on a very short, provided with a few, small scales, single flowered inflorescence with apiculate, half the length of the ovary floral bracts..

Schlechter states that the flowers are pale pink with red spotted sepals and red striped petals.
