Common Name The Shaggy Flower Bulbophyllum [refers to the densely hairy sepal]

Found in Java, Sumatra, Borneo and Malaysia in lowland and lower montane forests at elevations of sea-level to 1200 meters in moist shady forests on trees and rocks as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with 4 to 6" between each, slightly flattened, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, elliptical, bluntly pointed, conduplicate below leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, stout, 4 to 17 1/2" [10 to 44 cm] long, basally enveloped by numerous acuminate sheaths, to 15 flowered inflorescence carrying foul-smelling, not opening well flowers.
