Found in Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Thailand, Vietnam and Laos in semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests and savana-like woodlands as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte on tree trunks at elevations of sealevel [300] to 1500 meters with smooth, sheathed [when new] pseudobulbs that are crowded together carrying 2, apical, deciduous leaves falling off as it blooms in the fall on a 10" [25 cm] long inflorescence arising on a leafless, mature pseudobulb with the flowers held way above the leaf in a dense, cylindric, pendulous cluster at the apex with many [20 to 30] fragrant flowers.
