Common Name Levine's Bulbophyllum - In China Chi Ban Shi Dou Lan
Flower Size 1/8" [.4 cm]
Found in Vietnam, Hong Kong and Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan. Jiangxi, Yunnan and Zhejiang provinces of China mostly on mossy rocks along valleys but also in forests on tree trunks as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte in forests at 900 to 2000 meters with ovoid, close set subcylindric to bottle-shaped pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, thinly leathery, narrowly oblong to obovate-lanceolate, slightly undulate margin, subacute, contracted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring through summer on a basal, erect, 3 to 4 flowered, 3/4" to 4 3/4" [2 to 12 cm] long inflorescence with the several [2 to 12] flowers held at leaf height.
