Found in New Guinea on trees in range forests at elevations around 750 to 800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with oblong-ovoid, obtusely 4 angled pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect-patent, ligulate, minutely apiculate, glabrous, attenuate below into the base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, filiform, 2.4" [6 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with very small, many times shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the flowers are dark purple red.
