Common Name Macrae's Bulbophyllum [English Plant Collector in Brazil early 1800's] - In China Wu Lai Juan Ban Lan

Flower Size 1 5/8" [4 cm]

Found in Ceylon, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam and India at elevations of 300 to 1500 meters as a large to giant sized, hot to warm growing lithophyte on mossy limestone rocks or occasional epiphyte on tree trunk bases with closely clustered pseudobulbs and a single, apical leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, just longer than the leaf, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence. This species requires warm to cool temperatures, high humidity, good air circulation, light shade and ample water throughout the year
