This miniature plant comes from the western Himalayas, Assam, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanamar, Thailand, Laos, southern China, Vietnam, Taiwan and the Ryukyus Islands in evergreen lowland forests at elevations of 600 to 1800 meters and is a small sized, cool to warm growing, unifoliate epiphyte with 2.4 to 2.8" [6 to 7 cm] between each thin, slightly basally thickened, elongate psuedobulbs carrying a single, apical, narrowly oblong, obtuse, narrowing below into the conduplicate petiolate base leaf and blooms on a basal, slender, to 2 3/4" [7 cm] long, solitary flowered inflorescence that is shorter than the leaves, occuring from altitudes of 800-2000 meters that thrives in teak baskets with tree fern and wood chips blooms in the spring and summer.
