Found in Penninsular Malaysia, Thailand, Borneo as well as Sumatra in lowlands and hill forests creeping on trees at elevations around 700 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with flattened cylindrical pseudobulbs that are adpressed to the rhizome and carrying a single apical, thick elliptic leaf that gradually narrows below and is apically bidentate which blooms on an erect, purple, 3 3/4" [9 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with 2 to 5 flowers
Originally described erroneously as a Cirrhopetalum and later moved to Bulbophyllum and the section Corymbosa.
