Common Name The Parrot Tongue Bulbophyllum - In China Dian Nan Shi Dou Lan
Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]
Found in southeasten to southwestern Yunnan China, Thailand, Burma, Laos and Vietnam on shady rocks on open grassy slopes or on tree trunks in sparse woods as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte at elevations of 1200 to 1700 meters with reclining, ellipsoid, curved apically pseudobulbs clustered together each with a basal net and carrying a single, apical, ellipsoid leaf that narrows into a conduplicate petiole that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a short to 2" [to 5 cm] long, few [1 to 3] flowered inflorescence with an acuminate bract towards the base.
