This hot growing, unifoliate, lithophytic species is found in Borneo in hill forests on limestone in lowlands and has reticulated, lined leaves, oblong to ovoid psuedobulbs that are spaced far apart on the rhizome, and a short, 2 flowered inflorescence with large sheathing bracts that bears fleshy, fragrant flowers arising in the summer and fall. It grows in humus spread over limestone where it has a scrambling growth habit and will flower but it often also grows for long distances and may go up a tree but will seldom if ever flower.
