Common Name The Twisted-Petal Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 2 to 2 1/4" [5 to 6 cm]

Found as an epiphyte in Papua and New Guinea and Vanuatu at elevations of 50 to 1500 meters in mist forests on moss-free trunks and branches with 1/4 to 1/2" between each ovoid, obtuse, 4 angled pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, elliptic-ligulate, obtuse, basal narrow and glabrous leaf and is freeflowering if grown well with a slender, 2 1/4" to 4" [6 to 10 cm] long, erect to drooping, bracteate [3], gree to purple inflorescence that carries a solitary flower that increases in size with time and is held above the leaves.

Cited as a synonym of Bulbophyllum falciferum.
