Common Name The Sulawesi Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 8" [20 cm]

Found on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia at elevations of 1200 to 1500 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing, unifoliate epiphyte occuring on horizontal branches in stunted montane forests, with large ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical leaf that blooms on a basal, to 2' [60 cm] long, several [5 to 6] flowered inflorescence with several [10] successively opening, unpleasantly fragrant flowers held well above the leaves occuring in the spring and summer
