Common Name Wendland's Bulbophyllum [German Orchid Gardener- collected in Mexico 1800's]

Flower Size 6" long [9 to 15 cm]

Found in northern Myanamar and Thailand on trees and rocks in forests margins as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or lithophyte at elevatons of 200 to 1500 meters that has oblong pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, elliptic-oblong to lanceolate, coriaceous leaf and blooming with up to 6 flowers occuring in the spring, on a 6" [15 cm] long, stout inflorescence which arises from a newly forming pseudobulb and holds an umbel of a few to many fragrant flowers at the apex of the pseudobulb. A hot to cool growing orchid that needs an open medium, patial shade and frequent watering and fertilizer.
