Found in Papua and New Guinea at elevations of 60 to 900 meters on smooth barked limbs of large trees in seasonally dry lowland montane rainforests as robust, small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with acutely four-angled pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, oblong, obtuse, glabrous leaf with a round base which blooms on a apical, short [1/4"] inflorescence arising from an elliptic, compressed, apicaulate spathe and carrying a single flower held at the leaf base with the flowers opening in succession one at a time at almost any time of the year, although the peak is late spring summer.
