Common Name The Alpine Caladenia Mountain Caps Orchid

Found in Grampians or Mountain areas, from New South Wales to Victoria, Tasmania and New Zealand at elevations of 400 to 1500 meters in montane and subalpine snowgum woodlands as a small to medium sized terrestrial orchid with a thick, fleshy, narrowly linear, sometimes red leaf that blooms in the spring in Australia on an erect, often reddish, to 12" [30 cm] tall, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence with slightly musky scented flowers
