Common Name The Silvery Striped Calanthe - in China Yin Dai Xia Ji Lan

Found in southeastern China and Vietnam in broadleafed, evergreen, humid, primary forests in damp crevasses, on steep shady slopes in limestone karst regions at elevations of 100 to 1600 meters as a small to just large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial or lithophyte with conical pseudobulbs carrying plicate, ovate, silver striped, dark green leaves that blooms on an erect, basal, to 24" [60 cm] long, several [10+] flowered inflorescence occuring in the spring.
