Found in Gansu, Guizhou, Sichuan China in damp places in forests at elevations of 1300 to 1700 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with small pseudobulbs enveloped partially by sheaths and carrying 4 to 5, plicate, narrowly oblong, acute, not deciduous, gradually narrowing intothe petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an axillary, densely puberulous, to 26" [to 65 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence with persistent, narrowly lanceolate, glabrous, acute floral bracts
