Common Name The Hyacinth-Like Calanthe

Flower Size 3/4" [1.7 to 1.8 cm]

Found in Sulawesi at elevations of 30 between bushes to 1160 meters on tree fern stumps on steep slopes in montane forests as a large sized, hot to warm growing terrestro-epiphyte with small, hidden pseudobulbs carrying several, folded, plicate, linear leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on an erect, terminal, to 20" [50 cm] long, successively to 12, many flowered inflorescence
