This small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial species is known only from Kiata in the Little Desert of Victoria state Australia, in sparse forests where it favours red-brown sandy-loam soil and blooms in the spring on an erect, 4.8" to 10" [12 to 25 cm] long, single flowered erect inflorescence and is thought to be pollinated by pseudo-copulation perpetrated by the male thynnid wasp.
