Found in Japan and Xizang China in forests at elevations around 2600 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with conical pseudobulbs carrying 4 to 5, narrowly oblong-lanceolate to oblanceolate, acuminate, slightly undulate margins, tapering below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring on an axillary, erect, pubescent above, few flowered, 12 to 24" [30 to 60 cm] long, racemose inflorescence with lanceolate floral bracts
