This species is from Trinidad, Venezuela and Sao Paulo, Rio de janioero and Minas Gerais states of Brazil in hillside forests at elevations of 200 to 1500 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphytic plant with clustered, fusiform pseudobulbs carrying 6 to 8, medium green, oblanceolate leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a basal, 12' [30 cm] long, several [10 to 15] nodding flowered, arching to pendant raceme arising on a newly forming pseudobulb and requires cool winter nights and moderate shade.
