Common Name The Gnome-Like Catasetum

Flower Size 2" [6cm]

This species is a medium sized, hot growing, caespitose epiphyte from Amazonas state in Brazil and Peru growing on lowland trees near watercourses in wet montane forests at elevations of 200 to 1200 meters that has ovoid, ridged, pseudobulbs carrying 4 to 5 elliptic-obovate, petiolate, abruptly acuminate leaves that blooms on an arching or loosely erect, to 16" [40cm] long, loosely multi-flowered [4 to 12], racemose inflorescence with broadly ovate floral bracts and fragrant, nonresupinate flowers that arise on a newly mature pseudobulb and have three sexes visible in it's flowers, male, female, and hermaphrodite occurring in the spring through fall.
