Found in Amazonas Brazil in wet forests at elevations of 100 to 200 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with fusiform slightly curved pseudobulbs carrying 6, linear-oblanceolate, very dark green, plicate, 3 nerved leaves that blooms in the fall on an arching then pendant, 8.6" [21.5 cm] long, to 16 flowered infloresccence carrying resupinate flowers
