Found in Venezuela and northern Brazil as a large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with clustered, erect, ovoid psuedobulbs carrying 4 to 6, plicate, 5 to 7 nerved leaves that blooms in the winter on a basal, 16 to 28" [40 to 70 cm] long, 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence with very fragrant flowers

Similar and often refered as a synonym of C discolor.
