This is a medium sized, warm growing Brazilian species from Matto Grosso state occuring only on dead trees in gallery forests along the Juruena river with clustered, fusiform pseudobulbs carrying linear-lanceolate, medium green, plicate leaves that blooms on a basal, suberect, racemose, 11" [28 cm] long, several [9] flowered, long lasting inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb occurring in the fall and winter.
