Common Name Kempf's Catasetum [A Naturalist Assasinated by Narcotrafficers during a scientific expedition in Boliva 1900's]

Found in Bolivia in subtropical forests with out elevational data as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with fusiform pseduobulbs enveloped completely by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying distichous, plicate, articulate, elliptic leaves that blooms in the later summer to early fall on a basal, arched, racemose, green basally becoming purple towards the apex, to 8" [to 20 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence
