Common Name The Small Sword Catasetum

Found in Peru and Minas Gerais Brazil at elevations of 500 to 1000 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with elliptical pseudobulbs enveloped by leafless and leafbearing sheaths carrying linear-oblanceolate, medium green, plicate, 3 nerved leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a male inflorescence - almost erect then arching, to 14" [35 cm] long, to 20 flowered or a female inflorescence that is almost straight, to 7" [to 18 cm] long, and carrying up to 3 flowers.
