Found in Peru and Minas Gerais Brazil at elevations of 500 to 1000 meters as a medium szied, hot to warm growing epiphyte with elliptical pseudobulbs enveloped by leafless and leafbearing sheaths carrying linear-oblanceoalte, medium green, plicate, 3 nerved leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a [ male inflorescence - almost erect then arching, to 14" [35 cm] long, to 20 flowered] [female almost straight, to 7" [to 18 cm] long, to 3 flowered inflorescence]
