Found in Peru in montane forests at elevations around 500 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with fusiform pseudobulbs enveloped completely by 8 to 9 foliaceous sheaths carring plicate, elliptic, acute to acuminate leaves that blooms in the spring on a basal, shorter, few flowered female inflorescence and a basal, longer, many flowered inflorescence
