Common Name The Guanhaes Cattleya [An area of Minas Gerais state of Brazil]

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil at elevations around 1100 meters as a medium sized, cool growing lithophyte with obclavate, articulated, green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, lanceolate, coriaceous, evident midrib dorsally leaf that blooms in the fall on an apical, to 18" [45 cm] long, sequentially 5 to 10 flowered inflorescence arising through a linear-truncate, oblique spathe

CAUTION - This species would be better placed in Laelia within my taxonomic framework but as of yet it has not been named as such.
