Found in eastern Java in montane forests at elevations around 1400 to 1500 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with close set, 4 to 6 noded stems enveloped by imbricate brown sheaths and carrying a single, elliptic-oblong, stiff, fleshy, acute, gradually narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring on 1 to 5 per stem, arising through a common brown sheath, each held on .6" [1.5 cm] long, white pedicels.
